Green Card By Marriage
By: Venky Anandarangam

Perhaps the easiest way to get a green card is by marring a U.S. citizen. First a word of caution, marrying someone for the sole purpose of sponsorship is illegal and should never be done. If you are marrying a U.S. citizen because of love, you can expect to receive your green card in anywhere from 6 to 18 months. In the interim you will receive a work permit.

As longs as you entered United States legally and you marry a United States
Citizen then your United States citizen spouse can sponsor you for a green card. You must then file an adjustment of status application for a green. To guide you through the immigration process, you should consult with an experience immigration attorney. Beware of people who are not lawyers or who make unrealistic promises.
